Joe Burrow has been phenomenal this year. After coming back from a season-ending injury last year, Burrow has shown why he was the No. 1 pick overall.

The Bengals quarterback has ended the franchise’s longest playoff drought as well as the Super Bowl drought. With so many records under his belt in his 2nd season and reaching the Super Bowl, Chris Broussard feels that Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL over Burrow.

Broussard on First Things First said that even with the Super Bowl win Joe Burrow isn’t the best QB in the NFL. “Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL”, Broussard claimed. “If Burrow wins (the Super Bowl), he still has the same number of Super Bowls as Aaron Rodgers. I get it. He’s got a whole career ahead of him to win more but so did Rodgers.”

Broussard said, “Joe Burrow has 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in his last two games. Even with this Super Bowl, Burrow would not have accomplished as much as Patrick Mahomes. He won’t have the MVP Mahomes has. He won’t have the postseason records for most TDs in a playoff year.” The Chiefs quarterback had 12 TDs in the playoffs the year Kansas City won Super Bowl LIV.

“He won’t have the record for most comebacks in double-digit deficits in the postseason like Mahomes did when they won the Super Bowl. So, Mahomes is still the best quarterback”, Broussard added.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs had a rocky start to the 2021 season. However, the 26-year old QB made an incredible comeback and led the Chiefs to their 4th AFC Championship game in a row. Even if Mahomes didn’t make it to the Super Bowl this year, Chris Broussard thinks he is the best QB in the league.

If Joe Burrow is better than Patrick Mahomes will be decided this Sunday when the Bengals face the Los Angeles Rams at home for the Super Bowl LVI.
