Usually, the Super Bowl brings excitement and intrigue about what the NFL will produce for its fans. This time, with Bad Bunny leading the halftime show, there is uncertainty about how it will all turn out.

There is fear that the current Donald Trump administration might just send in its immigration agents to make a statement at the biggest sporting event in the country.

Prime among the reasons is the Grammy Award-winning artist’s constant barbs at the President and his decisions against immigrants. Commissioner Roger Goodell has dismissed the idea of ICE agents being present in and around Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, but there is still some apprehension.

Despite criticism from the world’s most powerful person, the NFL has stuck to its decision to field Bad Bunny. With their hopes of making this a spectacle, it should be expected that fans and players alike would be looking forward to the halftime show.

Then, a video clip dropped on social media showing a content creator going around and asking NFL players if they had a favorite song from the Puerto Rican rapper.

From the likes of veteran cornerback Marcus Peters, to Detroit Lions stars Penei Sewell and Amon-Ra St. Brown, to younger players such as Rams running back Kyren Williams, none of them had a clue.

In years past, players have been excited about or made time to watch the Super Bowl halftime show. But this time it may not be the case.

Player survey shows divided opinions on Bad Bunny’s halftime show

Before this video appeared online, there was another survey that was conducted. The Athletic sent out forms to NFL stars, with a simple question asking whether they were in favor of Bad Bunny performing the Super Bowl 60 halftime show.

58 players returned the anonymous survey, with 58.6% of players being in favor of the NFL’s selection of the Puerto Rican rapper. The other 41.4% were not in favor of one of them, telling the publication:

I don’t even know who Bad Bunny is. I always think it should be an American. I think they’re trying too hard with this international stuff.

An unnamed NFC offensive player told The Athletic

Some might dismiss the sample size as being too small to get a concrete opinion. But the fact that nearly half the surveyors were not happy with Bad Bunny performing gives an idea of how divided the league is.

Then, when one factors in the direct responses from players in the video above, it seems they will mostly be minding their own business rather than enjoying the entertainment.

Hall of Famer goes OFF on NFL’s decision to stick with Bad Bunny despite criticism

The NFL has stuck to its decision to let Bad Bunny lead the Super Bowl 60 halftime show even though they have faced criticism from President Donald Trump, players, and fans.

Why couldn’t we get someone right here from home? How about someone from San Francisco… Puerto Rico is not America… The NFL is one of the most corrupt organizations.

Eric Dickerson told TMZ

The Hall of Famer pointed out that the league could have hired the plethora of talented artists who live and work in San Francisco. But their corruption and greed are evident as they chose to go with someone who does not even speak English.

Even though the TMZ reporter tried to argue that Puerto Rico was part of the United States of America, Eric Dickerson responded by saying that at least the NFL should have gotten someone who could entertain the masses.
