Super Bowl LIX is approaching, and football fans are waiting to watch Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs take on Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Two of the best football teams facing off is what makes the biggest game of the season one to watch.
However, football fans are also wary of the fact that there is another element that could reoccur in this game. They have witnessed from the start of the season how officiating mistakes always seem to benefit the Chiefs.
Those mistakes showed their ugly side in the playoffs when evidence suggested that the officials were seemingly helping the Chiefs. Now the narrative seems to have reached the NFL Referees Association, and they came out with a response which was shared by insider Tom Pelissero.
This response from Scott Green was after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was asked if he had a script for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Commissioner threw out those suggestions and clarified that the theory is ridiculous at best.

The NFL Referees Association responded that no crew officiates the same team twice in a season. Therefore, fan theories and those brought up by the media suggested the entire officiating crew were colluding with the league and the Chiefs.
Referee Ron Torbert hasn’t officiated Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs this season
The NFL Referees Association may have come up with this statement after reporters quizzed Roger Goodell. With the allegations against other officiating crew still fresh on the minds of fans, the league and the NFLRA decided to hand Super Bowl LIX into the hands veteran Ron Torbert.
Torbert has not officiated any game featuring the Kansas City Chiefs this season. However, he did officiate the final regular season game for the Philadelphia Eagles. It seems the league, and the Association decided to go with a crew that wasn’t a part of the narrative.
However, Ron Tolbert is one of the many officials who have been alleged to have helped Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs in the past. Therefore, it is possible that fans would keep their eyes wide open to check for any such bad calls. Some have already highlighted with proof on how officials have seemingly helped the Chiefs.
But that notion has now reached commentators as it became all too evident during the playoffs. It has gone to the extent that now Hall of Famers are asking the league to improve the officiating. Else it can be detrimental to fan following down the line.
