The Seattle Seahawks made a rather bold and unexpected trade this offseason when they decided to let go of their franchise quarterback Russell Wilson. Despite denying trade rumors about the perennial Pro Bowler, the Seahawks finally traded him to the Denver Broncos.

The Seahawks traded Wilson and a fourth-round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, and tight end Noah Fant.

In his decade long run with the Seahawks, Russell Wilson had only one losing season and that speaks volume

Russell Wilson has had an extraordinary career so far in the NFL. But it feels like Wilson had imagined being a greater star right about this point in his career when he entered the league in 2012. It’s not a news flash that Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have been the face of the NFL for the better part of two decades. Somewhere in his mind, maybe Russell Wilson thought that after these two legendary QBs had hung up their cleats, he would’ve been the face of the NFL. But neither has retired so far.

He was then overshadowed by younger guys like Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow. Russell Wilson has probably made up his mind and said that this is his time to shine since he finally decide to move on from the Seahawks. Wilson’s stats speak for themselves. He is 104-53-1 in his 10-year career as the starter for Seattle.

On Get Up ESPN, Bart Scott and his co-hosts talked about Russell Wilson being lost in the conversations about great QBs in the league. Despite not having the best offense and defense, Wilson managed to lead the Seahawks to the top quite a few times and that shows just how great of a QB he really is.

“I believe that Russell Wilson is one of the better QBs and I think if he’s able to win another title, I think this puts him right there with Drew Brees. I know that’s saying a lot. But we can say that Russell Wilson in his ten years has only had one losing season,” Bart Scott said. Scott and his panel of expert analysts firmly believe that if Wilson wins a Super Bowl with the Broncos, that makes him one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.
