“I have to go get a real job” Rob Gronkowski before claiming the 1 million contract bonus from Buccs
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out with a convincing 41-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers in the final match of the regular season. The fixture was more of a formality for the side, as they had already made their way into the playoffs.
However, it carried special significance for one Tampa Bay Buccaneers player, Rob Gronkowski, who went into the fixture hoping to claim massive prize money for fulfilling criteria in his contract with the franchise.

He needed seven catches and 85 receiving yards to earn a $1 million bonus in the final match of the regular season. Gronkowski eventually finished his target courtesy of Tom Brady‘s help who defied instructions from coaches to help his friend reach the goal and get the prize money.
With only the fourth quarter left to be played, he still needed 7 receiving yards and a catch. It was then Rob Gronkowski felt a bit iffy whether he would be able to reach the target.
“Let’s go, I need one more!” Gronk shouted. “If I don’t get the seventh catch, I have to go get a real job,” Gronkowski informed a coaching staff while waiting for the play to restart for the fourth and final quarter.
Tom Brady immediately picked a pass for the tight end, to help him achieve his aim, as the microphones on Rob Gronkowski picked up his at having achieved the milestone.
“Tom! Good pass, dog!” Gronkowski hollered at his long time teammate.“Thanks, baby. I had to get you,” Brady said back.
In the end, he celebrated with Donovan Smith, with the duo dancing and singing at Gronkowski pocketing the million dollars.
