“Can we get this guy out of the league,” Sean McVay’s unfiltered reaction to Tom Brady’s dramatic return
Tom Brady
Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL on the 1st of February in order to spend more time with his family. However, ever since his retirement announcement there was constant rumours that he would eventually return to the field.
The veteran quarterback proved those rumours right, about 40 days later to un-retire and come back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2021 season. While this return might be good news for Tom Brady fans, it definitely did not help the cause for the other NFL teams.
Tom Brady is back for his 23rd NFL season this season after his return
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay almost had the perfect reaction, which probably captures the imagination of the the whole of the league. It was quite expected, given the fact that the Rams are scheduled to come across Tom Brady’s Buccaneers this season.
McVay said, “I was thinking, ‘S**t, man, can we get this guy the hell out of this league?’” via, Mark Maske of The Washington Post.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are however looking to get hold of Brady for another season after 2022, as they continue to back him to be their No.1 choice quarterback for the upcoming seasons.
“You know, we’re just happy that we have him back,” Buccaneers GM Jason Licht told JoeBucsFan.com. “We’ll see where it goes from here. We’re just happy that he’s going to be playing for us this year. We’ll see where it goes.”
