“I believe Tom Brady played a role” Shannon Sharpe claims the GOAT is the reason Bruce Arians retired

The 2022 NFL offseason has been one of the wildest of all time, partly thanks to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. More specifically, the retirements of Tom Brady and Bruce Arians.
When Brady first retired, the world was in shock, but it also sort of made sense. So, when he announced that he was coming back to the Buccaneers, the world was understandably more shocked than when he first left. Sort of. There were a bunch of rumors flying around that Brady still wanted to keep playing, just not in Tampa Bay because of Bruce Arians.
The initials rumors stated that Tom Brady was looking to play in either San Francisco or Miami. As the possibility of finding a way with either of those franchises faded away, Brady supposedly settled to come back to Tampa Bay. However, it seems he is still getting his way as the Buccaneers recently announced that Arians would be stepping down as head coach and moving to the front office.
Shannon Sharpe recently discussed Arians’ role in helping Todd Bowles get a job and how he feels Tom Brady played a role in all of this.
Shannon Sharpe questions Tom Brady’s role in Bruce Arians’ retirement
In a segment of Fox Sports’ ‘Undisputed’, Shannon Sharpe was quoted saying “Bruce Arians is to be commended for what he has done for minorities as well as women. I’d like to think we’ve given Bruce Arians a big bouquet of flowers for what he has done. But, we still question how did we get here? At the end of the season, had BA said I’m going to step aside, I believe it’s time for Todd Bowles to take the helm. No one would’ve batted an eye. But, because you said you were coming back, and then Tom Brady comes back and you retire, that’s what people are confused about.”
Sharpe further added “You had ample time to do that after the season. But late March? All the coaching vacancies had been filled. For people saying it was a great gesture by Bruce Arians for Todd Bowles, I believe it was. But I’m just questioning how we got to this gesture. I believe Tom Brady played a role. I don’t believe we got here under ideal circumstances although I’m happy with the ultimate outcome.”
The narrative that Tom Brady played a role in Bruce Arians retiring has been flying around quite a lot despite Arians stating why he stepped down. People will believe what they want to until they have valid proof of something proving them wrong. And for now, unless Tom Brady comes out and says he wanted Araisn gone, we’ll just have to accept that this is how it is and the Buccaneers will move forward.
