Shannon Sharpe takes vicious dig on Baker Mayfield and OBJ’s relationship after the former’s poor show against Packers

OBJ and Baker Mayfield for the Cleveland Browns

Leading NFL analyst, Shannon Sharpe took a vicious dig on the strained relationship between former Browns’ wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. and current quarterback Baker Mayfield. The main motive of the dig was to let Mayfield know of his disappointing performance against the Green Bay Packers, as Cleveland Browns suffered a 24-22 defeat.

Mayfield had a shocking night out, throwing four interceptions, which prompted people to question his position as the leading quarterback on the Browns’ side by the end of the halftime interval.

“I hurt this team,” Mayfield said. “That’s the most frustrating thing for me because I thought our defence played tremendously against a really, really good offence. But when you turn the ball over … and give them extra opportunities, they’re gonna take advantage of it. They just who they are.”

Shannon Sharpe poked a bit of fun on Baker Mayfield by suggesting that Odell Beckham Jr’s transfer to the LA Rams, was forcing him to throw his passes out of Cleveland and not to any of the other receivers of his side.

Sharpe wrote, “I see OBJ still forcing Baker to throw ints in Cleveland.”

Odell Beckham Jr and Mayfield had a strained relationship towards the end of OBJ’s spell at Cleveland, something which had started in the 2019 season of NFL when Mayfield ignored one of OBJ’s runs and threw the ball onto the other player. This act from the quarterback frustrated Beckham Jr, and their relationship needed healing ever since then.

However, they did see to reconcile later with hours of training together on the pitch to build more cohesion. All of this ended, when Cleveland made the decision to let go of OBJ last month, but it seems to still remain in the minds of the NFL followers, especially Shannon Sharpe.
