Odell Beckham Jr. since his arrival at the Los Angeles Rams has been nothing short of sensational and a great teammate to the other great players around him which have helped the Los Angeles Rams to win the Super Bowl.
His performance during the playoffs was exceptional as he helped to make some big crucial plays in clutch situations which helped the Rams to win the game and during the Super Bowl, he was playing at a great level and scored a touchdown before he got injured and had to leave the game which derailed momentum for the Rams and helped the Bengals to take the lead.
His tenure at the Cleveland Browns was nothing less than a terrible experience because of his issues on the field with Baker Mayfield who didn’t use to throw the ball at him which led to more scrutiny of Odell Beckham Jr. and the downfall of both the Browns and Mayfield.
Former NFL player and current FOX Sports Analyst Shannon Sharpe spoke about Odell Beckham Jr. and Baker Mayfield after the former won the Super Bowl with his new team and said, “It goes to show you that OBJ wasn’t washed up. OBJ was never the reason why it wouldn’t work.”
“The better the QB, the better the WR.”- Shannon Sharpe on Odell Beckham Jr. and Baker Mayfield
Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed talked about OBJ & Baker Mayfield and said, “Odell plays at a dependent position and in Two and a half years it didn’t work for Baker the way it did in 3 months for Stafford.“, He added, “It goes on to show you that if you are a receiver, The better the QB, the better the WR.”
He further said, “Davante Adams is a fantastic receiver but this notion that he will just be as impactful without Aaron Rodgers is not true, Jerry Rice who is the Greatest Receiver ever played with Joe Montana and Steve Young.”
Shannon said, “Baker Mayfield in his career has started for 60 games in his career and he is 29-30, I included that 11 game stretch in which Skip Bayless says he was like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, and it still accounts to 6-7 wins per season while having the Top 3 running game in the league.”
Odell Beckham Jr. won the Super Bowl after leaving the Browns and proved his doubters wrong and showed that he can still play and be one of the best wide receivers in the game.
