“I didn’t want to go anywhere” Stefon Diggs makes a huge revelation about his future with the Buffalo Bills
Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills recently agreed to a massive contract extension to keep the superstar receiver in Buffalo for the foreseeable future. Diggs recently spoke about his brand new contract.
Diggs was coming off the two best seasons of his career in 2020 and 2021. In both seasons he tallied over 100 receptions and over 1200 receiving yards with 1535 in 2020. His touchdown production was solid as well as he had 8 in 2020 and 10 in 2021. He certainly proved that he’s worth the big money.
Speaking of the money, the contract he signed was a $104 million deal that includes $70 million guaranteed and will keep Stefon Diggs in Buffalo for the next 6 years. This was the 3rd massive contract for a receiver this offseason after Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill both got massive new deals.
Diggs recently spoke about the huge contract in a press conference the Bills held for him.
Stefon Diggs wants to remain in Buffalo for the rest of his career
The Bills held a press conference for Stefon Diggs and he was quoted saying “To me, my family, my support system, my agent, it(staying in Buffalo) was something that we talked about prior to me ever coming here. I felt like my next spot was my last spot. I wanted it to be my home and I didn’t ever want to go anywhere. So anticipating that, it was important to me, especially the first year and the second year, you just felt like you had kind of built in that family.”
Diggs further added “And it’s hard to do that when you have a job and you try to stay professional. But you get those relationships, like the one I have with Josh (Allen) and the other guys on the team. It’s just like, alright, it’s starting to feel a lot like home. You don’t want to leave it.”
When the Bills acquired Stefon Diggs, they were sure that they were getting a superstar receiver and he has been just that for them. Having him want to stay with them long-term is the cherry on top. Given how contracts tend to work out in the NFL, it’s hard to say for sure if Diggs will retire in Buffalo but he certainly has the ability to now.
