“He should be ashamed of himself”: Stephen A Smith says Will Smith wouldn’t have the guts to slap if ‘The Rock’ jokes about his wife instead of Chris Rock

The Oscars are undoubtedly one of the biggest and most prestigious award ceremonies in the field of cinema. However, for the past few years, the award show wasn’t getting the kind of attention the producers would have liked.
The show needed something new and oh boy haven’t they got it. Stars joking about other celebrities is not something new for award shows. Sometimes the jokes are just in bad taste and even the audiences call out the host for crossing the line.
“Keep my wife’s name out of your fu****g mouth”: Will Smith to Chris Rock
However, this time around, a joke targeted at a star’s wife led to slapping and cursing on live TV. Chris Rock joked about Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. He claimed that he is looking forward to a sequel to “G.I. Jane,” which infuriated Smith.
The Hollywood superstar stood up from his chair, walked up to Chris, and slapped him with all his might. Even after all this, Smith wasn’t done. After sitting back down, he shouted at Rock saying, “keep my wife’s name out of your fu****g mouth.”
Reacting to all this, Stephen A Smith took to Twitter and called out Will for his actions. “I just saw the RAW footage. Will Smith should be ashamed of his damn self. It was a G.I. Jane joke. Total B.S. If it were The Rock or someone like that instead of Chris Rock would he have done that sh*t” Stephen claimed.
Undoubtedly, this will go down as one of the biggest on-stage live TV confrontations between two established stars. While there are a few people claiming that this might have been a predetermined stunt that got the Oscars the much-needed push, no one can back it up with credible evidence, at least for now.
