“Oops, that’s a blunder”: Stephen A Smith ‘accidentally’ lashes out at wrong Will Smith after slap scandal at the Oscars

The Oscars are one of the biggest and most prestigious award ceremonies in the field of cinema. However, for the past few years, the award show wasn’t getting the kind of attention the producers would have liked. Although we get some amount of drama every time, it wasn’t breaking the internet.
The show needed something new and oh boy haven’t they got it. Stars joking about other celebrities is not something new for award shows. Sometimes the jokes are just in bad taste and even the audiences call out the host for crossing the line. However, it is too audacious a thought that someone offended by a joke will go on stage and slap a comedian.
Will Smith slaps Chris Rock for joking about his wife
However, this time around, a joke targeted at a star’s wife led to slapping and cursing on live TV. Chris Rock joked about Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. He claimed that he is looking forward to a sequel to “G.I. Jane,” which infuriated Smith.
The Hollywood superstar stood up from his chair, walked up to Chris, and slapped him with all his might. After this, a number of people lashed out at Will for his actions. Stephen A Smith also lashed out at the Hollywood superstar and said, “I just saw the RAW footage. Will Smith should be ashamed of his damn self. It was a G.I. Jane joke. Total B.S. If it were The Rock or someone like that instead of Chris Rock would he have done that sh*t.”
Although Stephen’s intentions were right while talking about the serious issue, he ended up getting trolled as “by mistake,” Stephen tagged the wrong Will Smith in his Tweets. Instead of the actor Will who slapped Rock, he tagged Will Smith, the tech podcaster.
“Real talk, I’m not the person you’re upset/happy with. I make podcasts and video games for a living. At the risk of making people pissed off at me instead of that other guy, the world would be a better place if we stopped answering words with violence,” podcaster Will wrote.
