Stephen Jones lauds “value pickup” strategy, prepares fans for losing veteran players in the off season

Dallas Cowboys had a decent season this time as their team looked like causing havoc on any day which is why as the season progressed expectations began to rise for them they eventually fell short as they were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wildcard Game which brought heavy criticism from everyone.
The Cowboys roster however consisted of all players who all contributed and gave their all whenever they stepped on the field and the team would have wanted the majority of them to return back next season to go again in their charge for the Super Bowl.
The Chief Executive of the Dallas Cowboys, Stephen Jones has already said that the team might lose some fan-favorite players in the free agency as they are looking to apply a “value pickup” strategy that involves not to overpay any player and sign players who will be worth their value.
Difficult decisions lie ahead for Cowboys and Stephen Jones in the free agency
Stephen Jones will face many concerns in the off-season as he will have to decide which important players to keep who are on a high payroll or who to cut off from the team as many of them are loved much by the fans.
Some of the players who are subjected to cause a lot of headache to the Cowboys from office and Stephen Jones will be DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory as a choice will have to be made in keeping who among these two players. Lawrence is reportedly unwilling to take a pay cut or a contract restructuring. But a 3-5 year deal for Gregory could be risky, given his age and lesser production.
Another player who will be required to deal with is the LB Jabril Cox as he didn’t see much action as a rookie as he played just nine snaps through the first eight weeks before an ACL tear ended his season. Choices will have to be made as the Cowboys are preparing themselves for a Super Bowl Run and they will have to make some tough decisions that might not go well with the fans.
