“Steal of a deal”: Top free agent Terron Armstead signs 5-year deal with the Miami Dolphins for an unbelievable amount
Terron Armstead
Terron Armstead is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. The experienced offensive tackle was drafted by the Saints in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Terron played college football at Arkansas–Pine Bluff and impressed one and all with his talent.
As a matter of fact, Armstead was named HBCU Top 30 Under 30 by HBCU Buzz, back in 2014. As it turns out, the Miami Dolphins finally roped him into their squad. As per NFL Insiders Adam Schefter and Tom Pelissero, Armstead has signed a 5 year deal for $75 Million.
Terron Armstead’s experience will come in handy for the Dolphins
Without a doubt, Terron would add greatly to the Dolphins’ chances of making it big in the coming season. Confirming the deal, Tom Pelissero Tweeted, “The Dolphins are signing their new left tackle Terron Armstead to a five-year, $75 million deal plus incentives, per source.”
“Dolphins giving OT Terrron Armstead a five-year deal worth up $87.5 million, including $43.37 million guaranteed, source tells ESPN,” Adam Schefter informed on Twitter.
A lot of people were following the deal as Terron was ranked as the numero uno Free-Agent on NFL.com and it was expected that he would take home a lot of money. However, at $15 Million per year, one has to admit that the Miami Dolphins landed a pretty good deal.
However, one has to admit that there was a question mark on Armstead’s consistent availability as he missed out on nine games during the previous season and at least six games in four of the last six years. With Armstead coming into the side as a left tackle, the Dolphins would likely move Liam Eichenberg, who didn’t perform as per expectations last season.
