“There’s no way we can let him leave!”: Ray Lewis believes Ravens can’t let go of QB Lamar Jackson
Lamar Jackson
Lamar Jackson’s contract extension still hasn’t reached any definite news. While the quarterback remains focused on performing well for the Baltimore Ravens, there have been rumours of Lamar Jackson leaving the franchise.
Lamar Jackson becomes a free agent in 2023 and has the option to extend his contract going into the 2022 season. Ravens two time Superbowl winner Ray Lewis has given his views on Lamar Jackson’s contract situation.
Baltimore Ravens legend Ray Lewis wants his team to hold on tight to Lamar Jackson
Ray Lewis has made it absolutely clear that the Baltimore Ravens have to do everything possible in their capacity to keep hold of their coveted quarterback. He said on the Stephen A’s World show that the Baltimore fans loved Lamar Jackson and he should be staying.
“I love that kid, Baltimore loves that kid … he’s the new breath around the city,” Lewis said. “I’ve been praying for Lamar since he’s came in and even now because I just want to make sure he is doing the right thing for himself.”
Furthermore Ray Lewis added that at the moment it’s a possibility that Lamar Jackson doesn’t want to get involved with lawyers and agents but it would be a mistake from the Ravens if they let him on the market.
“Maybe he doesn’t want the lawyers, the agents and all of that stuff, I get it. Sometimes, you get tired of giving your money away. I think we have to get something done… It would be crazy if we ever came close to letting him hit the market. This is his last year coming up… and I’m telling you there is know way we can let Lamar leave Baltimore.”
