The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans game on Thursday will be played at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. Both these teams had contrasting results in their week 8 games. The Steelers were defeated by 10 points by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Titans on the other hand pulled off a gritty win against the Atlanta Falcons. The Steelers are 4-3 this season whereas the Titans are 3-4.

The Steelers have a stout defense. With players such as DE T.J. Watt and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, Pittsburgh’s defense is hard to penetrate. Their offense hasn’t lit up the league yet, but they have talent on that side of the ball as well. WR George Pickens has been developing good chemistry with QB Kenny Pickett. They have a talented RB in Najee Harris who can come good on any given night.

The Titans also have a very good defense with DE Jeffery Simmons leading the way. However, the Titans caused a lot of buzz on Sunday when their rookie QB Will Levis shredded the Falcons defense to score four touchdowns on his debut. He got the nod ahead of Titans’ regular starter Ryan Tannehill after he suffered a high ankle sprain. Levis looked mighty impressive against the Falcons and his instant connection with WR DeAndre Hopkins was tremendous. Oh and the Titans also have someone named Derrick Henry in the backfield, so there’s that.

It is going to be an exciting game between two teams similarly placed in terms of record. The Steelers will have home ground advantage but the Titans are coming into the game on the back of a stellar week 8 performance.

Why the Pittsburgh Steelers can win?

The Pittsburgh Steelers are averaging less than 14 offensive points and 16 overall points per game this season. They will have to score more points than that if they have to win the game. The Steelers have good offensive weapons but they haven’t been firing collectively so far. They go three-and-out on 46% of their offensive possessions which is the worst mark in the league.

Minkah Fitzpatrick

Their defense is why the Steelers have won games this season. But with the absence of Minkah Fitzpatrick, they will be short-handed on that side of the ball. T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward are still great players and the Steelers fans will hope that the veteran players have a great game against the Titans.

Why the Tennessee Titans can win?

The Tennessee Titans’ defense has allowed only 20 points per game this season. They have also given up only 129 first downs. Their secondary has allowed only seven passing touchdowns while the opponents are generating only 3.8 yards per carry so far this season. The Titans’ defense will be able to overpower the Steelers’ offense and with players like Jeffery Simmons, the Titans will have the upper hand on that side of the ball.

Will Levis

On offense, Will Levis will be high on confidence after his stellar 4 touchdown performance. WR DeAndre Hopkins and RB Derrick Henry will look to make their mark on the game as well.
