World No.1 tennis star Novak Djokovic has got himself involved in an ugly controversy that is taking longer than expected to die out. After getting medical exemptions from Australian authorities, Djokovic was detained at the Melbourne airport on his arrival and his VISA was canceled.
He was sent to a detention facility after which he decided to challenge his VISA cancelation in a judicial court. On Monday, Djokovic’s visa was reinstated and he was declared a ‘free man’ by the judge. As soon as he was free, he straight away went up to Melbourne Park to train on the Rod Laver Arena with his team.

The Serbian tennis star has a huge fan following. A large number of protestors took to the streets every day after the controversy started to show that they stand with him. After he won the case, Djokovic took to social media to share a picture of himself with his team and thanked his beloved fans for their support.
A number of top sports stars also reacted to Djokovic’s post. Among them was Tom Brady, one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of American Football. Tom commented “Good Luck” on Nole’s post.
The post we are talking about is heading towards a million likes. Needless to say, the kind of support Djokovic has got from his fans and other top sports stars is just incredible. Although the controversy is far from over, it will be interesting to see how it all affects Djokovic if and when he gets a chance to play in the Australian Open.
