What a night it was for the Los Angeles Rams. They entered the Super Bowl as the favorites to win and stayed the course as they lifted the Lombardi Trophy later that night.
However, it was more memorable for Rams’ wide receiver Van Jefferson. Not only did he help the Rams win the Super Bowl he also welcome his second child into the world. The wide receiver had four receptions in the Super Bowl for 23 yards averaging 5.8 yards per carry as the Rams register a 23-20 win over the Bengals.

Samaria, wife of Jefferson went into labor midway through the game. She was immediately rushed to the hospital mid-game after going into labor with their second child, a son. Jefferson wasn’t informed of his wife going into labor until after the game. He grabbed his daughter as she and his dad came onto the field and sprinted through the locker room. He immediately left to go to the hospital.
“The midwife said she has about an hour to go before birth,” Jefferson’s father, Shawn, told CBS Sports. Jefferson’s family and Rams; support staff were under strict instructions from Samaria to not tell Jefferson during the game if she went into labor, she told The Athletic earlier this week.
