The LA Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals, the two sides that surpassed all expectations and made their way to the Super Bowl were bound to set up an entertaining clash which is exactly what is transpiring. One just can’t afford to blink as the high-octane action is on at the SoFi Stadium.
While many experts were hopeful at the start of the season that the Rams will eventually make the playoffs, the same can’t be said about the Bengals who found ways of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat on several occasions in the tournament. They carried the ‘Underdog’ tag nicely and played fearlessly throughout the season.
Matthew Stafford off to a shaky start at Super Bowl
However, the Bengals haven’t started off as well as the fans would have expected. The Rams are the overwhelming favorites to win the Super Bowl and they did get off to a pretty good start. However, the Bengals have made a nice comeback in the second quarter and the game stands at 13-10 in favor of the Rams at halftime.
Up 13-10 in the second quarter, the Rams were threatening to expand the lead, however, Bengals safety Jessie Bates picked off quarterback Matthew Stafford in the end zone. After Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a knee injury while trying to catch a short pass from Stafford the QB tried to find Jefferson in the end zone.
However, Stafford instead found Bates. This was Matthew Stafford’s second interception of this postseason. Fans criticized him for his dismal play and compared him to the Stafford of the past who used to play for the Lions. The game is evenly poised at halftime. Although the Rams have a slight advantage at this point, it is hard to predict a winner with certainty at this point.
