“Nick Saban is the GOAT”: Twitter hails coach for defending Alabama youngsters Bryce Young and Will Anderson
Nick Saban, the coach of Alabama Crimson Tide side drew great praise from all sections after he went out of his way to back a couple of players in Bryce Young and Will Anderson. Saban’s side suffered a disheartening defeat against the Georgia Bulldogs in the national championship game.
The Crimson Tide’ quarterback, Bryce Young did not have a great outing on the pitch and came in for some undue criticism despite his strong showing throughout the season. Bryce Young and Will Anderson were handed post-match duties, with the duo taking questions from the press following his side’s 33-18 defeat.
Nick Saban held the duo back to show his support for Young and Anderson
However, immediately after their session got over, the Alabama coach Nick Saban, held both of them back to put in his weight of confidence on the duo.
“You know, these two guys that are sitting up here, they’re not defined by one game. These guys played great for us all year, they’re great competitors.
Saban also hailed the duo for their leadership skills for the whole sophomore season, acknowledging the fact Bryce Young and Will Anderson had literally carried the team to the finals.
They’re great leaders on this team and they contributed tremendously to the success of this team and we would not be here without them,” said Nick Saban.
“And both of them take responsibility for the loss, but both of them contributed in a lot of ways, in a positive way, to giving us a chance to win and a chance to be here to have an opportunity to win,” the coach continued. “So, I just wanna thank them for that and let everybody know how proud I am of these two guys.”
