“Drew Brees NFL record is safe” Twitter reacts as Tom Brady gets shut out for first time in 15 years
Almost the unthinkable happened in the match between Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints, as Tom Brady had a horror show, so much so that the legendary quarterback and his die got completely shut out with the Saints registering a 9-0 victory over them.
However, for mere mortals and other players, a shutout might not be something noteworthy but if the man in question is the legendary Tom Brady, then it is bound to grab headlines because the 44-year old, got shut out for only the third time in the entirety of his career, one which started way back in 2000.
Drew Brees’ record of 304 matches without a shutout won’t be matched by Brady
The last time Brady was shut-out came way back in 2006, and from then on the streak of not being shunned out started which finished yesterday at 255 matches. The 2006 shutout came against the Miami Dolphins, who defeated Brady’s New England Patriots 21-0.
However, the 9-0 recent loss to the Saints meant that Tom Brady will not be able to match or go past the legendary streak of 304 matches, which is still being held by Drew Brees, who too incidentally was a former Saints quarterback.
Brady was visibly disappointed with his performance as the Saints continue to be a menace for one of the game’s best quarterbacks of all time. His record against the Saints isn’t very flattering and the defeat ruffled a few feathers, making him visibly animated and angry on the pitch.
Brady was caught shouting obscene words towards the Saints coach, before smashing a tablet on the sidelines as disappointment got the better of him in a night where his hopes of getting past a longstanding record remained unsuccessful.
