The 2022 NFL offseason is turning out to be one of the craziest off seasons in the history of the game, with players being traded left and right every day. The newest addition to the narrative was Kansas City Chiefs’ nimble footed Wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
The 23-year old signed a mammoth contract with the Miami Dolphins for 4 years. The newly signed contract will see him pocket a whopping $120m during the course of his time at the franchise.
The Kansas City Chiefs failed to reach an agreement with Tyreek Hill over a new contract
In return of Hill, Chiefs will get the Dolphins’ first- and second-round picks along with their fourth-rounder in this year’s draft, and fourth- and sixth-round picks next year, according to the source.
The Kansas City Chiefs were involved in long talks with the wide receiver to hand him out a contract extension, but the talks were stalled for sometime due to the franchise’s salary cap troubles. After it emerged that they cannot reach an agreement, Tyreek Hill was given permission to seek a trade move.
Tyreek Hill has made the Pro Bowl every year he’s been in the league, and he was courted by a number of franchises, including the Packers and the New York Jets. Courtesy of his new deal, Hill has become the highest paid wide receiver player in the league, only days after Davante Adams earned that spot, after signing a new deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Recently, Tyreek Hill said that his dream was to win 7 Super Bowl titles, to emulate the great Tom Brady. Hill has so far won 1 Super Bowl title, which came in 2019 for the Chiefs and will look to add to his tally when he takes the pitch for the Miami Dolphins, who have not been at their best for the past couple of seasons.
