Going into the Week 18 matchup of Chiefs vs Broncos, it was expected to be a one-sided game in favor of Kansas City but a pregame warmup injury to Tyreek Hill and Drew Lock making plays with his legs has turned this one into a real game in the first half.
The game started as expected with the Chiefs defense stopping what was expected to be a lackluster Broncos offense. The Chiefs offense then methodically marched downfield to put up the game’s first points with a touchdown pass to Travis Kelce. Since then, however, the Broncos have responded with two solid drives capped by Drew Lock’s touchdown runs including a career-long 23-yard rushing touchdown.
Drew Lock unconventionally shocking the Chiefs defense
Going into halftime the Broncos take a surprising 14-10 lead over the Chiefs. Drew Lock is showing up with his career in Denver potentially on the line. Whether or not he stays in Denver, a good performance today could be enough for the young quarterback to extend his NFL career by attracting interest from teams across the league. Here are some of twitters reactions to an unexpected first half.
