Tyquan Thornton almost sets 40-yard dash record at NFL scouting combine with exceptional performance

Baylor’s wide receiver Tyquan Thornton almost broke the records at the NFL Scouting Combine in the 40-yard dash competition. He recorded a time of 4.28 seconds to absolutely steamroll over all the other competitors.
Moreover, Thornton was the only one to record a sub 4.3 second time in the 40-yard dash at the event which included quarterbacks, receivers and tight ends.

Tyquan Thornton recorded a time of 4.28 seconds in the 40-yard dash and almost broke the NFL records at the NFL Scouting Combine event this weekend in Indianapolis. It was earlier reported that he had a time of 4.21 seconds which was faster than the previous record of John Eclipse’s 4.22 seconds. This record was set in 2003.
However, since then it has been corrected and Tyquan Thornton’s official time is recorded at 4.28 seconds. Velus Jones of Tennessee completed the dash in 4.31 seconds and came at second position.

The other wide receivers participating were – Memphis’ Calvin Austin III (4.32), SMU’s Danny Gray (4.33), Rutgers’ Bo Melton (4.34), North Dakota State’s Christian Watson (4.36), Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson (4.38) and Ohio State’s Chris Olave’s (4.39).
Tyquan Thornton was an impressive last season with 62 receptions last season for 948 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was also a part of the second-team All-Big 12 honours.
