Kelly Stafford’s brain tumor diagnosis naturally shook her and her husband, Matthew Stafford. However, it also brought them closer as a couple. Stafford opened up about the surgery and how it impacted their relationship for the better, in a recent podcast.
Kelly Stafford was taking the seat at the ‘Absolutely Not’ podcast on Wednesday to talk about tough times long gone. Kelly recalled Matthew Stafford‘s initial resistance to the idea of her surgery, considering the possible risks.
However, as he came around, they got to going in with the risk of some of her senses, such as that of auditory and balance in compromise. Subsequently, Kelly expressed she would not have gotten through without him. The process got the Staffords closer as a family, considering that there was a positive outcome to Kelly’s surgery.
Kelly Stafford shared how the tumor had sat on her balance nerve. Having said that she shared how her 6-month-old could sit up better than her when she first came out of surgery. Additionally, she had to relearn several things, wherein Matt Stafford played a significant role.

Kelly Stafford and Matt Stafford, like every ultimate sports couple, were acquainted with each other during college. Years later the two tied the knot in 2015. Currently, the Staffords are a family of 6, with their four children, twins Sawyer and Chandler, Hunter, and Tyler.
Kelly Stafford talks mental health and therapy
Matt Stafford’s wife Kelly Stafford previously opened up about taking therapy because of her inability to set boundaries. Recently, she shared how it impacted her mental health and her journey to a better version of herself.
Kelly Stafford called herself a big ‘therapy girl’, having openly talked about it quite a lot. Not just that, she also endorses or encourages people to take to therapy instead of bottling the stress. In a casual way of thinking, Stafford expressed how one could change their therapist if it did not work out for them.
The episode came after Stafford’s confession about her reason to take to therapies. Additionally, she shared how it has benefitted her in moving forth her issues. The confession was not new to her fans as she is known for her transparency on social media.
