“There has been absolutely no withholding”- Washington Commanders comes up with a strong retaliation after being under fire for withholding ticket revenue

The Washington Commanders are going through a tough phase at the moment. After their first round playoff defeat against the Buccaneers last season, the Commanders were looking to build a better squad for this season.

However, the franchise has been pegged back by the allegations of withholding ticket revenues from the matches held last season. According to the NFL rules, teams are to hand in 40% of their revenue to the league which is then divided equally among the 32 franchises.

As reported by Front Office Sports, the U.S. Congress’ House Oversight Committee was given information that seemed to indicate that Washington withheld ticket revenue. If the allegations made against the Washington Commanders are found to be truthful, it could mean the end of the term for their owner, Daniel Snyder.

In wake of these allegations, the Commanders have now released a staunch defense of themselves saying that the franchise has never withheld any ticket sales revenue at any time. The Commanders spokesperson also threatened that whoever has given out the details has committed perjury.

“There has been absolutely no withholding of ticket revenue at any time by the Commanders. Those revenues are subject to independent audits by multiple parties. Anyone who offered testimony suggesting a withholding of revenue has committed perjury, plain and simple,” Daniel Kaplan of Washington Commanders wrote on his official Twitter account.
