Tom Brady’s return has once again put the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into the Superbowl contention group. The legendary quarterback’s return is a major boost to the team and one that was on the cards for quite some time.
Tom Brady in all fairness was giving all the signs for a comeback and many NFL insiders and pundits already guessed about it. However when he did announce his return, it created a huge uproar not just from the Buccaneers fans, but all NFL supporters in general.
Chris Godwin knew about Tom Brady’s return
Chris Godwin has now revealed that apparently him and Mike Evans knew about Tom Brady’s return. Godwin has spoken about the incident and said that just before announcing his comeback, Tom Brady had shot him a quick text.
Fox Sports’s Sara Welsh has reported about the incident and she said that 20 minutes before making the official announcement, Tom Brady texted Chris Godwin about his comeback. It’s natural that Godwin was surprised and excited at the same time.
“Chris Godwin says Brady texted him and Mike Evans 20 minutes before his unretirement announcement: ‘We were gassed up.” Godwin adds, “We’re back and trying to make it back to the top of the mountain.’ #gobucs,” she has reported.
“It changes everything,” Godwin said on Monday. “Everybody knows the player that Tom is. It’s like the Brady effect. Guys want to come and play with him. They want to come here and have that opportunity to win championships. Honestly, we have great guys here already. We have great players here already on offense, on defense, great leaders.
Then you add that piece back in the mix, and it’s like now who else wants to come be a part of it? I was elated. I was gassed up. I’m still gassed up. Shoot, we’ve already been at this two years, and it’s only going to keep going up from here.”
