Quarterback Deshaun Watson has officially joined the Cleveland Browns. Watson who has 22 cases of sexual assault against him has finally been given clearance by the Browns. Baker Mayfield of the Browns has asked for a trade after the arrival of Deshaun Watson.

Deshaun Watson has been accused of sexual assault and that increases the complexity of his case. While taking a decision on his trade, the Browns had to conduct a personal investigation in order to go through all the complexities.

Cleveland Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam have addressed the concerns of the fans surrounding the incoming of Deshaun Watson. They assure the club has done their best to ensure that nobody’s feelings are hurt.

“We are acutely aware and empathetic to the highly personal sentiments expressed about this decision,” the Haslams said. “Our team’s comprehensive evaluation process was of the utmost importance due to the sensitive nature of his situation and the complex factors involved.”

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski and General Manager Andrew Berry Botha acknowledged the concerns surrounding the trade of Watson. Stefanski said that after meeting the 26-year old quarterback in person, they were confident about signing him.

“It was important for us to meet with Deshaun in person as part of our team’s evaluation process, we had a candid conversation regarding his approach to coming into our organization and community,” Stefanski said.

“Deshaun has been among the very best at the position and he understands the work needed to re-establish himself on and off the field in Cleveland,” Berry said.
