Nick Saban and Bryce Young
The Alabama Crimson Tide is the best college football team this season. The Crimsons have been on a spectacular 8-win streak. Alabama Head coach, Nick Saban guided the young stars to victory in the Cotton Bowl Classic against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Star QB, Bryce Young, led Alabama in defeating the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game. It was Alabama’s seventh consecutive win over Georgia, which also lost to Alabama in the 2018 College Football Playoff national championship and the 2018 SEC Championship Game.
“It’s in the past”: Bryce Young doesn’t want previous win to give players overconfidence
Alabama is set to face the Bulldogs again in the CFP Championship game. The Georgia Bulldogs will be looking to take revenge for their humiliation in the SEC Championship. Prior to the Championship game, no other team had managed to score more than 17 points against the Bulldogs but Alabama put up 24 points alone in the second quarter. Quarterback Bryce Young finished with 421 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, plus 40 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
Bryce Young has managed to gather everyone’s attention by his performance this year. However, the 20-year-old quarterback said that facing Georgia in the CFP Championship game again is going to be totally different. “What we have done in the past, it’s good to watch the film, it’s good to learn from that”, said Young. “But we don’t start with any more points because of anything that’s happened in the past. Anything in the past is exactly that — in the past.”
“We have to earn the outcome”: Bryce Young on facing the Bulldogs again
Alabama QB said that they won’t get any carryovers from their previous matchup against Georgia. “It’s going to be a new game. So we have to earn the outcome that we want.” He added that defeating Georgia doesn’t entitle them to anything in the CFP Championship game.
Bryce Young won the 2021 Heisman Trophy, being recognized as the most outstanding player in college football. Since Young is only a sophomore, he has to play college football for one more year to be eligible for the NFL draft. He is projected to go Top-5 in the 2023 NFL draft.
The College Football Playoff National Championship between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs is set to take place on Tuesday, 11 January at the Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis.
