The 2024 NFL season is at a key juncture. Week 10 is filled with great matchups, starting with Thursday’s matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams enter the game with momentum on their side following a 41-10 win over the Denver Broncos and a 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, respectively. This week’s game is important for both teams.

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have been phenomenal this season, but despite their 6-3 record, they sit in the second spot in the AFC North. The Bengals, on the other hand, remain third in the division, having had a rocky 4-5 record this season. This week’s game is crucial for them if they intend to make the playoffs.

For Lamar Jackson and Co. this week’s game will be a key one to win as they gear up to face their division rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers next week. Besides, it will test the team’s defense as they go up against one of the better offenses in the NFL with Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase.

Why can the Baltimore Ravens win?

The Ravens faced a bit of uncertainty as Lamar Jackson’s availability was in question for Thursday, however, HC John Harbaugh has confirmed that he will start against the Bengals. With Jackson and Derrick Henry, the team’s offense is one of the best in the NFL.

For Baltimore, the concern is not on offense but on defense. The teams met in Week 5 and the Ravens took the win in overtime by a 3-point margin. The team’s defense is susceptible to being inconsistent and that is a mistake they cannot afford to make against Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

Why can the Cincinnati Bengals win?

The season did not start in ideal fashion for Joe Burrow and Cincinnati but in the past four weeks, things have been looking up for the Bengals. Surprisingly though, the team has performed well offensively since the get-go but their defense has let them down when they were needed the most.

The Bengals’ defense struggles at stopping the run game and when you have Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson on the other end, that is not a good problem to have. Ironically, the team with the better defensive play will determine the winner of this outing and if the Bengals hope to get a shot in the arm in terms of morale, their defense will need to shut down Baltimore as that would send a message to their opponents in the coming weeks.
