The NFC East had gained the moniker ‘NFC least’ over the past few years owing to little to no competition in the division. Now, things are different as the division hosts two of the best teams in the NFL competing for the top spot. In week 11 the best of the NFC East will face each other on Thursday.

The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Washington Commanders in a matchup that will predict the best team in the division. The former is enjoying a hot win streak whereas the latter is coming off a 1-point loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The quarterback battle will be between Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels. Both competitive players are vying to make history by leading their teams to the Super Bowl this season. The interesting question is whether the rookie will outclass the seasoned quarterback or whether Hurt will get the last laugh.

Why can the Washington Commanders win?

The Commanders have proven to be a consistent football team that can win against good teams. However, they tend to falter when they face the best teams in the league. So far this season they have lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Ravens, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Commanders need to beat the Eagles for two reasons, to show that they can go toe-to-toe against rosters with better talent, and to secure the lead in the NFC East.

This will be a challenging game for Jayden Daniels as four of the Commanders’ starters’ status for Thursday night remains questionable. Fortunately, he will have Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown active.

Why can the Philadelphia Eagles win?

The Eagles have won all five of their last outings. This season, Jalen Hurts has not been hurting the offense by throwing too many interceptions compared to previous years. Their offense has found its rhythm with Saquon Barkley leading the charge, and A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have been doing their thing. Philadelphia is a Super Bowl favorite at this juncture of the season.

This would be a good time to state that Philly has the second-best defense in the NFL this season. The team is allowing an average of 274.1 yards per game, restricting opponents to just 173.4 yards passing, and 100.7 yards in rushing. They have a well-balanced team that is playing at its best and that is why they head into Thursday’s game as the favorites.
