The NFL Week 13 matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers will be an entertaining matchup between one of the best teams in the NFL and the most talented team in the league. This game is integral to win for the latter as it hopes to get back into playoff contention.
Things have not been well for the San Francisco 49ers this season. Injuries to key offensive players Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel have plagued the offense and far worse is the possibility that defensive coordinators are likely to have figured out Head Coach Kyle Shanahan‘s playbook.
The 49ers are struggling, but so are the other teams in the NFC West. The Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals sit atop the division with a record of 6-5.
This means the 49ers are just two wins away from getting back to the top of the division and Sunday’s matchup against Buffalo will go a long way in boosting their playoff chances and confidence.

Why can the San Francisco 49ers win?
This season has not been quite what the 49ers had hoped for it to be. The team that has been the clear-cut favorite to win the NFC is now struggling to win its division. San Francisco will need a miracle to win against the Buffalo Bills as the team is going into the game short-staffed.
Quarterback Brocky Purdy’s status is questionable for Sunday. Star left tackle Trent Williams and left guard Aaron Banks will be out thereby making the offensive line vulnerable to Buffalo’s edge rushers.
The 49ers’ defense has proven to be consistent, but they will be without their backbone Nick Bosa and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir. With key starters out of this game, it will be challenging for San Francisco to win.
Why can the Buffalo Bills win?
The Bills have won their division 12 weeks into the season. The team has not tasted defeat since Week 5 and because they are coming off a win against the Kansas City Chiefs followed by a bye-week, Josh Allen and Co. will be ready to get back to their winning ways.
The Bills offense has been consistent this season averaging 345.3 yards per game. The running game has thrived on the back of James Cook. Josh Allen has been having a remarkable season with 2,543 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions so far. He ranks third in the NFL with a QBR of 73.0.
While the odds do favor the Bills, the status of Keon Coleman remains questionable for Sunday’s game. Dalton Kincaid has been ruled out for this week’s matchup and if Coleman meets the same fate, then Allen will have a hard time running the offense.
