Josh Allen elevated his league MVP stock by beating the San Francisco 49ers 10-35 in week 13. Allen has the opportunity to defeat back-to-back NFC West teams as they travel to California to play against the Los Angeles Rams during Sunday, December 8’s early kick-off at SoFi Stadium.

The Rams were in New Orleans last week, where they scored 21 past the Saints to record their 6th win of the season and currently sit with the same record as the Arizona Cardinals (6-6). Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw two touchdowns while running back Kyren Williams covered 100+ yards and one score on the ground.

The Bills are unbeaten in two months in trying to keep pace with their nemesis, the Kansas City Chiefs. By beating the 49ers, Sean McDermott’s side clinched another AFC East title and qualified for the playoffs. Allen scored three touchdowns (passing, receiving, and rushing) and is the favorite for the MVP.

Rams head coach Sean McVay praised the job the Bills have done in the last few years.

They’re a complete offense. They’ve got the ability to do a lot of things.

Sean McVay said (H/T: Sports Illustrated)

These two teams last played each other back in Week 1 of the 2022 season, which ended in a 31-10 defeat for the Rams. Stafford threw for 240 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions, while wide receiver Cooper Kupp had 13 receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown. Allen, on the other hand, threw 4 touchdowns, 297 yards through the air, and 56 yards on the ground.

Why the Buffalo Bills can win?

Josh Allen is obviously the talisman for the Bills. The Wyoming graduate has 2,691 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions this year while completing 64.6% of his attempts. He also ran for 334 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Allen’s go-to guy this year has been running back James Cook. The younger Cook has slowly crept up the RB charts by lodging 703 yards (63.9 yards per game) and 11 TDs. Wide receiver Khalil Shakir has 60 receptions for 629 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

In defense, the Bills’ defensive end Gregory Rousseau has 41 tackles, 15 TFL, and 6.5 sacks in 2024, while safety Damar Hamlin accumulated 70 total tackles, two TFL, and two interceptions this year.

Why the Los Angeles Rams can win?

The Rams need the win the most between the two teams to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. One slip-up and either the Seattle Seahawks or the Arizona Cardinals will take hold of the division.

The good thing for McVay’s side is that Stafford is in form. He has played in every game this year, throwing for 2,983 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Kyren Williams has 926 rushing yards on the ground to go with 145 receiving yards and 12 total touchdowns, while Kupp has 58 catches for 565 yards and 5 touchdowns.

In the defense, outside linebacker Jared Verse has 54 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 17 quarterback hits, and 2 forced fumbles. Cornerback Cobie Durant has 39 tackles, 5 pass deflections, and one interception.
