Atlanta Falcons, after a game-one loss, are looking to get off the rocky beginnings as they face mighty Philadelphia Eagles this Monday. Eagles, on the other hand, are riding the Brazil high where they won the first-ever NFL game hosted in the South American nation.

The game is important to the Falcons QB Kirk Cousins, who is back after a season-ending injury during the last year. Cousins couldn’t deliver the Falcons their first win of the season last week. HC Raheem Morris noted that Cousins is a bit rusty after not playing for a long time and would get better once he gets some time in the field.

Cousins is also facing the imminent threat of 2024 Falcons draftee Micheal Penix Jr, making the game an important one for him and the team. However, things are as good as the sunlight in Philly. They seem more organized and put together with the addition of Saquon Barkley. They are also aided by the home advantage.

Why can the Atlanta Falcons win?

The chances that the Falcons might win are extremely low. However, it is not completely impossible either. Kirk Cousins, despite a rocky start for the Falcons, is a much-revered quarterback who can inflict damage on the Eagles defense.

The Eagles are also lacking AJ Brown, who played a key role in the Eagles’ win over the Green Bay Packers. Brown, who topped the Eagles with 119 receiving yards, five receptions, and one touchdown, will be sidelined on Monday night because of a hamstring injury. This could play well in favor of the Falcons on Monday.

Why can the Philadelphia Eagles win?

Saquon Barkley is one of the biggest weapons that the Eagles possess. The NFC Offensive Player of the Week had an impressive week one. He became the first Eagles player to record three TDs in a debut since 2004. Even without Brown at WR, the team still has more than enough talent to win in Week 2. If Jalen Hurts can avoid turnovers, the Eagles should be able to defeat the Falcons rather convincingly on Monday night.

There’s also the fact they will playing at home, which will be an added boost for the players. Also, the Eagles do have a superior record over the Falcons. Furthermore, The Falcons haven’t won in Philadelphia since 2012.
