The Dallas Cowboys face a familiar foe in the shape of the New York Giants. Both teams are 1-2 after three games defeating the Cleveland Browns. While the Cowboys are on a two-game losing streak, they have a great record against their NFC East rivals.
Last season, the Cowboys scored 89 and only conceded 17 in two games against Thursday’s opponents. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott threw combined more than 550 yards and 4 touchdowns, skyrocketing his MVP odds. He still has a similar form but has so far failed to close the deal on the teams.
The Cowboys’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens hurt the most because they came very close to winning the game despite the defense letting in 28 points. Prescott subtly shrugged his shoulders, but deep down, the defeat was a massive blow, especially since it was back-to-back at AT&T Stadium.
As for the Giants, they have continued to improve from their opening-day loss to the Minnesota Vikings (3-0). Quarterback Daniel Jones in the last two games has a quarterback rating of over 85, completing 4 touchdowns. His most favorite target, rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, has 23 receptions for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns. Nabers’ couple of touchdowns against the Browns made him the quickest first-year receiver to catch two in one game.

Why can the New York Giants win?
Brian Daboll will not have a better opportunity to get a win over the Cowboys. Their defense has struggled in the last two games, conceding more than 25 points each time.
The Giants lost Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles, but Singletary has been a solid replacement, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Daniel Jones seems to be passing the ball more and better compared to week 1 and the whole of last season before his ACL tear. Nabers will once again be a big threat, making it hard for Cowboys corner Trevon Diggs.
Why can the Dallas Cowboys win?
The Cowboys lost both of their home games, and their lone win came against the Browns in Cleveland. Perhaps this year they would pick up more points on the road.
Additionally, history is on the Cowboys side, who have a 75-47-2 record over the Giants, winning 9 of their 10 meetings. Prescott will once again be the player to keep an eye out for, but he needs help from CeeDee Lamb, who was frustrated last game for not seeing the ball too much and dropping a crucial catch.
