The Week 5 matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals will be a must-watch game for fans. If recent history has taught fans one thing, it is that when these two teams go head-to-head, the outcome of the game is challenging to predict.

This season has been tricky for both the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals. The former has had a shaky 2-2 start to the regular season whereas the latter won just one of four matchups. Both teams head into the Week 5 game with a sense of optimism after having won last week, but it is Baltimore that can rest easy knowing they have to go up against one of the lower-ranked defenses in the NFL this season.

Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry put on an offensive masterclass as the Ravens trumped the Buffalo Bills 35-10. The quarterback had a perfect game as he threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns, but it was Henry who came out of his shell. The running back had 199 yards rushing on 24 carries and one touchdown.

In the case of the Cincinnati Bengals, the team won its first game of the season against the Carolina Panthers. Offensively, the Bengals have been consistently good, but it is the defense that has continued to let them down. Cincy will need to dial in its defense if it intends to stand a chance against the Ravens.

Why can the Cincinnati Bengals win?

The Bengals have home-field advantage heading into Sunday night’s game. Joe Burrow and the offense have performed strongly on home field, a streak they will look to continue. If history has taught fans one thing, it is that the Bengals get off to a slow start, but once they get into a rhythm, then they steamroll their opponents.

The Joe Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase connection is elite, and fans will bank on the duo to put some points up early on the board. Besides, Baltimore lacks a good pass defense. The Ravens have been allowing the third-most passing yards per game this season. This is an opportunity upon which the Bengals will most certainly look to capitalize.

Why can the Baltimore Ravens win?

Two words, Week 4. Last week, the Ravens put out the fire extinguisher upon the fire that has been Josh Allen through the first three weeks of the season. The offense and defense were in perfect sync and played elite football.

Considering the Bengals’ struggles on the defensive end, Derrick Henry will quite literally run them out of the game. Cincy ranks 25th in the NFL against the run and 31st in success rate against the run. They are not in a good position to be in, when they are facing a team that thrives off the run game.

Lamar Jackson ranks 9th in the NFL in rushing while averaging 7.5 yards per carry. If Baltimore opts to stick solely to the rushing game on Sunday, they have a good shot to beat the Bengals. But of course, Lamar can throw the ball which is all-the-more reason to fear the Ravens.
