The highlight matchup of NFL Week 7 is the battle between last season’s Super Bowl finalists. The Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers will be a chance for either team to earn bragging rights.
On one hand, Patrick Mahomes and his injury-depleted receivers will try to make a dent in the opposition. On the other hand, Brock Purdy will try and win the game to redeem his team.
Either way, it will be a battle of supremacy even though their contrasting regular season records show otherwise.
The Chiefs have battled to win five straight games and are emerging from a bye week fully rested. Their performances so far have not been exciting, but enough to keep the ball rolling as they look to avoid a Wild Card game.
The 49ers have a different situation as they are just a .500 team as of now. A loss will hand them a losing record, whereas a win will help them continue to keep their confidence rising. They too have some problems with injuries, but not too extreme to upset the chemistry.

Why can the Kansas City Chiefs win?
The Kansas City Chiefs have the most confidence of any team in the league. After all they have without doubt the best quarterback in the game in Patrick Mahomes. In their five wins so far, the star QB has not played lights out. But his ability to make plays out of nothing continues to be a problem for any opposition.
His brilliance has glossed over the loss of two superstar wide receivers and has instilled confidence in the rest of the group. Add to that, the defense is playing well enough to upset the rhythm of opposition offenses. All of this under the tutelage of Andy Reid and they have a recipe to keep winning.
They also are aware of the struggles the 49ers have faced in their three bad losses. Expect the likes of Mahomes and Reid to exploit those lapses and lead their team to win number six. More importantly, a win will help demoralize a team that could eventually face them again in the Super Bowl.
Why can the San Francisco 49ers win?
Pound for pound, the San Francisco 49ers have a better squad. Then most of them want to return the pain of losing last year’s Super Bowl.
Add those two together, and the 49ers might end up getting revenge and most importantly, get that spark to shake off some of those bad early losses. QB Brock Purdy will be the one to watch as Chris Jones and his friends will target him.
But the third-year QB has shown composure despite some interceptions this season, and composure is what he will need to continue to win. He will miss big receiver Jauan Jennings this week, but rookie Ricky Pearsall will make his debut and could be the unexpected wild card.
If Purdy can get him the ball early, expect the offense to throw the Chiefs defense off guard. Setting up this matchup of NFL Week 7 to be tantalizing from the first whistle.
