The Minnesota Vikings are coming off their first loss of the 2024 NFL season to the Detroit Lions. With a short break since Sunday’s game, the team led by Sam Darnold will look to revert to its winning ways on Thursday as they face the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams, contrary to Minnesota will look to secure their second win in a row after their win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Nobody is more excited than Matthew Stafford for Thursday’s game as he gets his best wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who is returning to the roster after a high ankle sprain kept him out for five weeks.

The Rams sit at the bottom of the NFC West, which is shaping up to be the worst division in football this year. A victory against the Vikings will boost morale and put the Rams next to the likes of the San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals. However, it will not be a cakewalk.

Why can the Los Angeles Rams win?

Matthew Stafford had a rough time without his best receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. With the latter’s return, he can breathe a sigh of relief and get the offense going early in the game. The Rams rank 21st in passing yards and 32nd in touchdowns thrown, not an ideal position to be in. However, the return of Kupp combined with the continued dominance from Kyren Williams should give the Rams a shot in the arm on offense.

Why can the Minnesota Vikings win?

Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions does not diminish the fact that the Vikings remain one of the best teams in the NFL. A well-balanced offense with Justin Jefferson and Sam Darnold will be further strengthened on Thursday as tight end T.J. Hockenson makes his debut this season after sustaining a knee injury last year.

The Vikings’ defense has proved to be consistent and has stepped up this season. The team should not be doubted after just one loss.
