“Considering Retirement”: When Joe Burrow contemplated retirement after he was told he had ‘tiny hands’
Joe Burrow
What an unforgettable 2021 season it turned out to be for Joe Burrow. Whenever the Cincinnati Bengals needed him, he was there to drag his team out of trouble. Even under extreme pressure, the team from Cincinnati was able to win games after games and a lot of credit for it has to go to mighty Joe.
His individual performances and his leadership quality paved the way for the underdogs to make it big. Although they were disappointed to emerge on the losing side at the Super Bowl, the Bengals would surely be proud of their entire side for defying all expectations.
“Considering retirement after I was informed the football will be slipping out of my tiny hands”: Joe Burrow
Burrow’s rise, especially in the 2021 season was a monumental one. With 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns, Burrow made sure he led his team by example. However, as it turns out, the superstar quarterback thought about retiring from the sport a couple of years back.
Well, not in all seriousness, of course, Burrow, back in 2020 had posted on Twitter that he is thinking about retiring from the sport as he has very tiny hands. “Considering retirement after I was informed the football will be slipping out of my tiny hands. Please keep me in your thoughts,” he had Tweeted.
Burrow’s hand measures only 9 inches from the thumb to the pinky finger which incidentally is the smallest Quarterback hand since 2008. Well, it would be fair to say that Burrow has well and truly proved everyone wrong who felt he wouldn’t be able to perform as per expectations just because of smaller hands.
