“In true Gronk fashion” When Rob Gronkowski lit up the NFL Draft with his outrageous celebration

Rob Gronkowski

When Rob Gronkowski was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 2010 NFL Draft, no one really thought that he’d become one of the most electrifying tight ends of all time. But, that’s exactly what he has become and he showed everyone the minute he got drafted.

It’s not too often that a player is selected in the 2nd round of the draft and becomes the best player ever at their position but that’s exactly what Rob Gronkowski has become. He’s put up numerous seasons with 1000 yards along with ones with more than 10 touchdowns that’s resulted in him having 5 first-team All-Pros to his name along with 5 pro bowls.

After taking a year off, Gronk found his way back to football and his quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers. While his first season wasn’t too spectacular, Gronkowski delivered in his second season as he likely would’ve easily topped 1000 yards had he not missed 5 games.

With the NFL Draft fast approaching, they’ve been throwing flashbacks to iconic moments in previous years and Gronk getting drafted was exactly that.

The NFL posted the moment when the New England Patriots selected Rob Gronkowski recently. Now, normally players have emotional reactions like crying or hugging their family members in attendance. Not Gronk though. Everyone gathered around in a huddle and started bouncing around and shouting before eventually embracing with joy.

In addition to that, Gronk also broke tradition as instead of walking out with his new team’s jersey, he chose to take their helmet with them. Something that hadn’t really been seen before and provided a truly iconic draft photo.

Since then, Rob Gronkowski has gone on to be the best tight end the NFL has ever seen and could continue to add to his legacy in 2022, although he still hasn’t decided whether or not he wishes to continue playing for the Buccaneers yet.
