Tom Brady is widely known to be the greatest quarterback of all time and has been the face of the NFL for the past two decades. Despite tasting success like anyone before, Brady is still a humble and down-to-earth guy.

However, there was a time when the Buccaneers’ QB lost his cool. A Boston radio show host insulted the 7x Super Bowl champion’s daughter Vivian for her appearance on Tom vs Time documentary. Brady gave the radio host a piece of his mind for disrespecting his then five-year-old daughter on live radio.

Alex Reimer, a host of the WEEI radio show, was discussing Tom Brady’s documentary when he lobbed a crude insult at the quarterback’s daughter. “I thought the first scene was so staged, where Brady is in the kitchen, his kid is being an annoying little pissant,” Reimer said. This hurt the then Patriots’ signal-caller who expressed his disappointment with the show’s host.

“I just think any parent is really protective of their kids and I’ve never stayed away from criticism, I understand that you know, criticism is part of sports but I certainly don’t think that my children or any other children, really, deserve to be in that,” Brady said, via the Boston Globe. “So, that’s how I felt.”

Following Reimer’s statement, WEEI made a statement wherein they apologized for the host’s comments and stated that he has been indefinitely suspended from the organization: “We deeply regret what happened and offer our sincerest apologies to Tom Brady, his daughter and his family, as well as the New England Patriots organization.”

Tom Brady showed restraint despite the fact that his daughter’s name was dragged through the mud for no apparent reason. During a press conference before Super Bowl LII, Brady was asked how he felt about those vulgar comments and the radio host being fired from his job. “I think, you know, we all have careers and we all make mistakes and I mean, I’d hate for someone to have to change their life over something like that,” Brady said. “It’s certainly not what he intended.”

Kudos to Brady! If any other parent were in Brady’s shoes, they would’ve definitely wanted the host fired. After this saga, the Patriots would go on to lose Super Bowl LII at the hands of Nick Foles and the Eagles. But they would once again make an appearance at Super Bowl LII, their third consecutive, and win it with ease against the Los Angeles Rams. This also marled the end of the Brady-Belichick era in New England as he would go to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and win another Super Bowl in his first season itself!
