An interesting fact about Devon Witherspoon is that he didn’t start playing until his junior year at Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Florida. There he won the Pensacola News Journal Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 in his senior year. From there onwards he went to play for the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Devon Witherspoon played for the Illinois Fighting Illini where he was majoring in Communications. Witherspoon recorded 33 tackles and two interceptions in 2020 52 tackles and one sack in 2021. He grabbed three interceptions in 2022, with 14 pass breakups.

Many experts believe that Devon Witherspoon will be the perfect fit for the Detroit Lions who will be targeting the cornerback. His explosive power and pace could well make him the number one CB.
