N’golo Kante is a lot improved version of himself

Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante has improved a lot of aspects of his game for the better this season. The central defensive midfielder didn’t have the best of seasons last year and many pundits believed he was playing out of position.

However N’golo Kante has returned back with a bang this season. Some may say it’s because Frank Lampard is playing him in a position which suits him the best.

What’s making N’golo Kante better?

Better range of passing

A lot of critics had a doubt about Kante that his passing abilities were very restricted. This mainly came under scrutiny when Jorginho was brought in 2018 and people started comparing the two. That certainly has changed with Kante being able to exercise a better range of passes.

He’s definitely capable of spraying out those long passes and looks comfortable in the interchange as well.

Position awareness and flexibility

N’golo Kante is without an inch of doubt one of the best defensive midfielders in the world; probably at the top. Hence it only makes sense to give him a position wherein he can do what he does best- guard the defense.

When played in his natural position against Burnley, Frank Lampard got the best out of him with Kante being all over the field.

This utter nonsense of him being a box to box player and need for him to be advanced is showing. Kante needs to be given the freedom to display his quality.
