French midfielder N’Golo Kante has been linked with a shocking return to the Premier League, as West Ham is keen on signing the 33-year-old. This comes after the former Chelsea star’s impressive Euro outing with France, leading them to the semi-finals.
The 33-year-old midfielder previously enjoyed title-winning spells at both Leicester City and Chelsea. He has made more than 250 appearances in the EPL, and was an important part of the Foxes’ historic EPL triumph. At Chelsea, he won two PL titles, a UCL and UEL title, while being named in the Team of the Year several times. After spending eight seasons in England, Kante made a high-profile transfer to Saudi club Al-Ittihad last year.
After a season of resurgence for the midfielder, he played a pivotal role in France’s Euro 2024 campaign, even winning two MOTM awards. Recent reports indicate that West Ham is considering bringing Kante back to England. The ex-Leicester star would add a wealth of experience at London Stadium. However, acquiring the French midfielder might cost around £20 million due to his contract with Al-Ittihad, and his high wages could also pose a challenge.

Apart from the Frenchman, the Hammers under their new manager Julen Lopetegui, are hoping to make some budget-friendly signings. They’re eyeing players like Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Arsenal star Reiss Nelson.
Arsenal could hijack N’Golo Kante transfer to help Mikel Arteta solve midfield issues
Ex-Chelsea star N’Golo Kante, linked to a surprising move to West Ham this summer, could become a viable option for Arsenal if the Gunners fail to secure any defensive reinforcements.
Arsenal reportedly wanted to sign Kante in 2022. However, the move fell through due to an injury that limited him to just seven matches in his final EPL season. A strong comeback in the Saudi PL followed by the Euros this year has reignited Arsenal and Mikel Arteta‘s interest in the Frenchman.
The Gunners might hijack West Ham’s move, considering the exit rumors surrounding Thomas Partey and Jorginho. If signed, the midfielder would seamlessly fit into Arsenal’s midfield, playing behind Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
