“Go Leafs Go” chant from Justin Bieber earned him ‘boos’ from the Montreal Crowd
Justin Beiber
Justin Bieber, a popular Canadian singer got ‘booed’ at his concert in Montreal on Tuesday. Being a huge fan of the Maple Leafs and a friend of Auston Matthews, he cheered on the Leafs by saying, “Auston Matthews is doing some work here in Montreal” about the goals Matthew scored against Montreal over the weekend.
Justin has been a die-hard fan of the Maple Leafs. But his action of rubbing salt on the fresh wounds of the Habs left him being criticized by the crowd at his concert. The 28-year old was on his way to the Justice World Tour when he decided to remind the crowd how the Montreal Canadiens got eliminated from the NHL playoffs just 4 days ago.
Justin’s cheering for Leafs
Justin Bieber a devoted Leaf fan screamed, “How about them Leafs though?”. You can probably hear his voice even from the video. But he didn’t just stop here. He went on poking their wounds by saying,
“How’s that playoff spot looking for you guys this year?”; and “Maybe next year, maybe next year,” resulting in more boos and eventually finishing with a “Go, Habs, Go” chant.
Justin has recently collaborated with the Maple Leafs to create the first reversible jersey worn by the team’s Next Gen game. Despite being ‘booed’ so much, he didn’t have much of a reaction. Needless to say, Montreal has been one of the worst teams in the NHL this season, sporting an 18-38-11 record and sitting last in the Eastern Conference.
On the other hand, Justin’s Maple Leafs have a 42-19-5 score, owning the 7th best record in the league and the 3rd seat in the Atlantic Division. At the Montreal concert, Justin eventually stopped annoying the public by stating that Montreal is one of the best places to perform in the world.
