The Super Bowl LIX is in the books. The biggest game of the 2024-25 NFL season saw the Philadelphia Eagles crush the dreams of the Kansas City Chiefs of three-peating the Super Bowl. Following the loss, an NHL Hall of Famer took a brutal shot at the team and their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

After beating the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII in 2023, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl again in 2024 as they defeated the San Francisco 49ers. Following a close 32-29 victory in the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs reached their third successive Super Bowl.

In the rematch of Super Bowl LVII, the Eagles came out flying high. They had a dominating start and soon took a 24-0 halftime lead, leaving Mahomes and his teammates a huge mountain to climb.

In the end, even the super-dominating Chiefs were unable to break the defense of the Eagles. Following a 40-22 loss, NHL Hall of Famer Roberto Luongo took a jab at the Chiefs on X.

There have been some calls that have gone in favor of the Chiefs this season. This has led to a huge backlash from the fans who have called out the referees. The NFL Referees Association have hit back at this and not happy with the allegations of them helping Mahomes and Chiefs win matches.

Patrick Mahomes catches wild stray from MLB internet personality following Super Bowl loss

Patrick Mahomes did not have the type of performance many had gotten used to in the playoffs on Sunday. The 3x Super Bowl MVP struggled to break down the Philadelphia Eagles defense. Following this loss, he caught a wild stray from an MLB internet personality.

X user Jay Cuda has amassed a huge following for his iconic ways of displaying the stats. While he usually covers MLB, he does have an expertise on other sports as well.

In a post on X, he would troll Mahomes while seemingly comparing with Tom Brady. The former New England Patriots quarterback was on commentary for this game.

The X user would hilariously point out how Mahomes has a losing record in the playoffs when Brady is around. The 47-year-old is only one of the three QBs (Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts are the other two) who has defeated Mahomes in a playoff game. Cuda pointed out how Mahomes has a poor record in the Super Bowl when Brady is involved.

Meanwhile, New York Knicks star Josh Hart also took a dig at the 29-year-old quarterback. Taking to X, he claimed that there should be no more “Brady comparisons” of Mahomes with this loss. Brady has an impressive 7-3 record in the Super Bowl after an incredible 23-year career. The Chiefs star will need a lot more wins to catch up to him.
