Marian Hossa will retire after playing a game with the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday against the Seattle Kraken at United Center. He signs a one-day contract with the Blackhawks before Thursday’s game.

The signing will happen at 6.15 pm on Thursday in the United Center atrium. Hossa stepped away from the NHL games in 2017 after the progressive skin order was discovered. His contract with the Arizona Coyotes ended last season. On July 1, 2009, he signed a 12-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks and will thus retire after playing against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.

I would like to thank the Wirtz family for making this a reality and for all they have done for me since I signed with the team.”

The 43-year old has accumulated 1,134 points, in 1,309 games for the Ottawa Senators, Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburg Penguin, Detroit Red Wings, and Chicago Blackhawks, according to nhl.com. With 415 points in 534 regular-season games, with added 73 points in 107 post-season games for the Chicago Blackhawk.
