Since the Pittsburgh Penguins’ heavy 7-1 defeat against the Dallas Stars, the talks of a potential trade away from the team regarding Sidney Crosby have blown up. NHL Insider Kevin Weekes has now urged the Nashville Predators to “swing for the fences” to get him in a sensational trade.
The trade talks of Crosby were further sparked by the comment of Paul Bissonnette. The Spittin’ Chiclets co-host took to his X account and suggested that he should join the Colorado Avalanche, following Pens defeat on Monday night.
While discussing the possibility of a trade move from the team, Weekes suggested that the Predators need a new center. He further pointed out how the owners of the Predators were committed to achieving success.

Just like the Penguins, the Predators themselves are in a tough spot. Despite the moves in the offseason, the team has not been able to produce the results they had hoped for. After 16 games this season, the Preds are bottom of the Central Division standings with a 5-9-2 record.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reacts to Sidney Crosby trade rumors
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently reacted to the trade rumors of Sidney Crosby. In his 32 Thoughts column, he issued a bold statement regarding these talks while speaking on the future of the Pittsburgh Penguins captain.
While addressing this situation, Friedman pointed out that if Crosby wished to go somewhere else, he would have not extended his stay with the team. He suggested that this could only happen if Crosby gets hit harder than expected by the harsh reality that the Penguins could not compete for silverware.
The chances of Crosby getting traded away seem a lot at the moment. As per recent reports, Penguins General Manager Kyle Dubas recently claimed he was open to trading everyone on the team to rebuild the team, except for Sidney Crosby.
The 37-year-old forward entered his 20th season with the Penguins this year. Having joined the team back in 2005 as a first-round pick, “The Next One“, has played in 1,290 games, scored 598 goals, picked up 1,015 assists, and claimed three Stanley Cup titles.
