The National Hockey League mentioned on Wednesday that the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery will be held on May 10, Tuesday. In this year’s Draft, only the Top 2 picks will be subject to the lottery. The lowest 32nd team can draft is 3rd overall. Plus, a team can move up to only 10 spots, meaning that the bottom 11 teams are eligible to select the 1st overall. Depending on which team wins the first lottery, the odds of the teams winning the 2nd overall lottery pick drastically increases.

The odds for the first draw of the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery have been adjusted by adding the Seattle Kraken as the League’s 32nd team this season. During the last NHL season, the Buffalo Sabers had finished with the worst record but had the best odds by winning the lottery and selecting defenseman Owen Power as the No.1 pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

National Hockey League Central Scouting will release their final rankings of the Top North American and International skaters and goalies for the 2022 NHL Draft on May 5th. Among the Top North American skaters, Shane Wright of the Ontario Hockey League is expected to be the top pick this round. Whether the Montreal Canadians, the Arizona Coyotes, or some other lucky team will have a chance to draft the OHL player will soon be known on “the day”.
