“Sorry Caps fans” Alex Ovechkin’s preseason debut nervousness makes him belt out tuneless RHAPSODIC melody

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is in quite a fluttery mood as he sings to welcome his 2022 preseason debut. Earlier during the playoff season, he missed the first cut due to sustaining an upper-body injury.

It was the 3rd straight season where the Caps captain missed out on an event due to ailing injuries. Though he did return with a blasting goal to Washington’s win, he missed the previous final 3 games of the regular season with a shoulder injury.

Alex Ovechkin to make preseason debut against Red Wings

Now the 36-year-old forward is ready to have a headstart with his preseason debut in the upcoming 2022-23 NHL season. They’ll be playing against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.

Apart from Ovechkin, T. J. Oshie, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and Lars Eller will also be skating for the first time in their preseason debut. The game roster for the Caps preseason is already out with all top names listed on it. 

Ovie will be starting his 18th NHL season after missing the first 2 preseason games. Last season he tied his NHL goals with Wayne Gretzky and Mike Bossy after recording 50 net-shots for the 9th time. Another interesting name on the roster will be goalie Darcy Kuemper who will make his debut after signing a 5-year $26.5 million deal.
